Don't forget!
- Listen to your pre-mastered CDR before you send it to be mastered.
- Always keep a back-up copy for yourself.
- Make notes of any specific work you want done. (i.e. track fades, crossfades between songs, spacing, etc.)
- Label and include your contact information on your pre-mastered CDR disc.

Digital Editing Digital editing is performed with the recording industry standard 24-bit Pro Tools.  More recording engineers demand Pro Tools for their audio production tasks than all other digital workstations combined. 24-bit resolution is particularly valuable on sessions that support extensive editing because working with higher bit rates/resolution not only helps to create the most accurate image of the original audio source, but also keeps the image clearer throughout the various stages of editing and processing.

Please keep in mind. Mastering can not fix problems associated with poorly recorded or mixed music. Don't make the mistake of thinking that all problems will get fixed during the mastering process.  While mastering is an important step, please don't make the mistake of thinking it is a cure-all for problems you can fix during the recording or mixing process.
